Bone Grafting

The loss of bone after a tooth extraction is a compelling problem for implant dentistry and general restorative dentistry. Over time the bone will reabsorb leaving the extraction site unsuitable for the placement of implants.

With bone grafting material available today many options are used to place implants of proper size and width, it also gives us a chance to restore functionality and esthetic appearance.

Materials used in bone grafting can be synthetic or obtained from the patient from inside the mouth, from the upper jaw behind the last tooth, the third molar region, or an area of the chin.
